Volha Isakava is an Assistant Professor of Russian at Central Washington University. Her research interests include contemporary post-Soviet cinema and popular culture. Her current research deals with popular genre films from post-Soviet countries and the impact of globalisation on national cinemas. She has published on contemporary Russian genre films, horror and romcom specifically, and on late Soviet chernukha cinema.
